Best practices and obligations for producers of used vegetable oil

  • Check the oil level in the container periodically (max 80%)
  • Before the waste is shipped, verify that the F.I.R. or Vi.Vi.FIR (digitally certified Waste Identification Form) has been properly completed in its entirety
  • Before the waste is picked up, make sure that the driver is an employee of the company with which you have a contract or authorization
  • Periodically verify that the carrier has returned the fourth copy of each FIR or Vi.Vi.FIR within three months, and follow up if it is missing
  • Check your certified email account regularly, as the fourth copy of the FIR or Vi.Vi.FIR may also be sent via this method
  • Report to the competent authorities that you have not received the fourth copy of the waste transfer form if it is not received within 3 months of the date the waste was handed over to the carrier
  • Keep a copy of the transport and recovery permits issued by the companies with which you have entered into a contract for the collection and recovery of oil
  • Check periodically with your advisor to determine whether your company is required to maintain a waste intake and disposal log.
